The high school football season is in full swing and we've covered our fair share of games thus far. Over the first four weeks of the year we've watched Serra, Corona Centennial, Crenshaw, Dorsey, Alemany, Long Beach Poly, Oceanside, Notre Dame and many other teams battle it out on the gridiron.

On a cold, rainy night at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Ca the Granite Bay Grizzlies defeated the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits 21-20 in a heart-stopping, edge-of-your-seat battle. The final minutes of the game were championship caliber.

There was no score for most of the first quarter as both defenses took some time to feel each other out. Poly jumped out to a 7-0 lead on a 28-yard touchdown catch by senior Gerard Wicks on a trick play.

The Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits will look to cap off their impressive playoff run with a victory over the Granite Bay Grizzlies Friday night at Home Depot Center in the Division I State Championship.

After starting the season 1-3, the Jackrabbits have reeled off 11 straight wins behind the two-headed rushing attack of Gerard Wicks and Manusamoa Luuga. The pair have combined for 2,766 rushing yards and 31 touchdowns this season.

The Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits defeated the Clovis North Broncos 28-7 to capture the CIFSS Division I Regional Championship at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Long Beach Friday night.

The Broncos jumped out to a 7-0 lead on a short touchdown run by sophomore standout Bo Olorunfunmi.

The Jackrabbits equalized on a big time fourth down touchdown catch by junior Juju Smith.

The Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits defeated the favored St. John Bosco Braves 13-10 to advance to the Pac-5 Championship against Mater Dei. The Jackrabbits survived a tough physical battle behind a strong rushing performance from Washington State commit Gerard Wicks.

Wicks scored the lone touchdown of the first half on a short touchdown run to give the Jackrabbits a 6-0 advantage into halftime. As the fog rolled in, St. John Bosco cut the lead in half with a field goal in the third quarter.
