Arizona-bound Parker Jackson-Cartwright led the Loyola Cubs to a 93-71 victory over the visiting Crenshaw Cougars in front of a sold-out crowd. The game was tied 15-15 towards the end of the first, until Loyola senior guard Tre Mason's bucket plus the foul gave the Cubs an 18-15 lead.
The Cubs walked into halftime holding onto a comfortable lead and never looked back. Parker Jackson-Cartwright controlled the offense for Loyola and finished the game notching a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists, to go along with 5 rebounds.
Senior Trey Mason answered back many of Crenshaw's comeback efforts by splashing three-point after three-pointer and led the Cubs in scoring with 23.

Loyola finished the game with five players in double-figures, including Trey Mason with 23, junior center Thomas Welsh had 20, while sophomore guard Max Hazzard scored 12 alongside Jackson-Cartwright.
Crenshaw's Andre Edwards was a bright spot for Crenshaw and poured in 29 points in a losing effort. Mica Winn was also impressive for the Cougars and hit several big three-pointers to keep Crenshaw close throughout the game.
After watching Loyola in last season's CIF State Playoffs, it's apparent that this is a more experienced team with the tools and discipline necessary to make a championship run.
Parker Jackson-Cartwright: Arizona '14 Commit
Jackson-Cartwright recently committed to the University of Arizona and is ready to become a Wildcat in 2014.
"Now I can just chill, lay back and really work on my game, focus on school and get better. I have ultimate trust in Coach Miller and that whole coaching staff. As far as right now, I'm locked into that school," he told CLA after Loyola's win over Crenshaw tonight.
"Be ready Arizona," says Jackson-Cartwright.
If one thing is certain, Santa Monica High School is on a mission to be ready for Jackson-Cartwright and Loyola in the CIF Southern Regional Final in Ontario at Citizens Bank Arena on Saturday March 16th.
