On offense, the area's talent level is abundant this season with Farmer, USC commits Victor Blackwell (WR, Mater Dei) and Max Wittek (QB, Mater Dei), Stanford commit Kelsey Young (RB, Norco), Alabama commit Isaac Luatua (OL, La Mirada) and others. Farmer will be the number one receiver on the Serra team this season with the departure of All-American wideout Robert Woods, and as seniors, Wittek and Blackwell should prove to be a dangerous tandem once again.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Los Angeles region is loaded with talent across the board. Led by the athletic 6'4" 242 pound defensive end Townsend Jr. and the number one ranked athlete in the nation's class of 2011 in Crenshaw's De'anthony Thomas, prepare for an exciting season. 6'3" 265 pound defensive tackle Todd Barr (Lakewood) made significant progress as a junior with 11.5 sacks, and currently holds offers from nearly 30 schools across the country.
