HILLSBORO -- It took four quarters to take control but Jefferson beat Central Catholic 72-63 Sunday at the Les Schwab Invitational at Liberty High School.

Jefferson needed all of star Terrance Jones' 38 points,12 rebounds and six blocks, as the two-time defending Class 5A state champions struggled with Central Catholic's zone defense in the first half.

Transfer Stephen Madison added 18 points and 12 rebounds for Jefferson (4-1).
