Burbank Rolls to 42-7 Victory, Remains Undefeated

In the Battle of the Bulldogs, Burbank cruised to a convincing 42-7 home league victory Thursday night over Pasadena. With the win, Burbank improves to 5-0 on the season heading into a big Pacific league showdown against Crescenta Valley next Friday.

The Bulldogs jumped out to the early lead on a short touchdown run by standout junior James Williams. In addition to the game-breaking Williams, Burbank features a stable of talented backs that include Joseph Pendleton and Tony Toledo.

Toledo extended the Burbank lead with a touchdown run that was followed by an impressive touchdown catch from playmaking senior receiver Oharjee Brown. After transferring from Burroughs, Brown has acclimated himself well in the Bulldogs offense, running crisp routes while displaying solid hands and ball skills.

Burbank took a 21-0 advantage into halftime.

The Burbank defense was flying around all night making plays and held Pasadena scoreless until sophomore receiver Tyrek Brown hauled in a sick touchdown to cut the deficit to 35-7. The talented sophomore also plays basketball and has a promising future for Pasadena.

In the end, Burbank proved too strong. Quarterback Ryan Meredith tossed three touchdowns on the night. Brown and Toledo each added another touchdown in the second half while Williams chewed up more yardage on the ground. It was a sound all around effort from Burbank to stay undefeated.
